Leonard Sharon, known as Lenny to his clients and friends, is a skilled defense attorney who has represented hundreds of people from all walks of life in courtrooms throughout New England as well as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kansas and South Dakota.
His cases span more than 30 years and range from OUIs and drug trafficking charges to domestic disputes, federal firearms violations, racketeering, arsons, white collar crimes, homicides and everything in between. A few have even made national headlines.
During a 1981 federal trial that became widely publicized around the country as the Boston College point-shaving case, Sharon's deft handling of his client's defense attracted attention from journalists and others in the courtroom. Later, when a book about the case was published ("Fixed: How Goodfellas Bought Boston College Basketball") author David Porter referred to Sharon as "most erudite of the attorneys in Courtroom 9" where the trial involving multiple defendants and their lawyers had unfolded for the previous four weeks.
Admitted to the bar in both Maine and Pennsylvania, Sharon is a former professor at the University of Maine School of Law. He has argued cases before the Maine Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals.
